![]() ![]() Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring Sparks a Riot (1913)The Rite of Spring is a landmark ballet by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky that provoked a riot when it premiered at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. Expecting the demure conventions of classical ballet, the audience was caught off-guard by Stravinsky's dissonant score and Vaslav Nijinsky's violently untraditional choreography depicting fertility rites. Fistfights broke out between detractors and supporters, and chaos ensued. What Disney film popularized the ballet? More... Discuss |

Maya, these were some on my favorite images. There were too many to put in one post. It's difficult sometimes to decide which ones to use.
Thank you for the visit and comment.
Patty, your photographs have captured the amazing feel of that place. We went there a few years ago and walked through the Forum. And my daughter was in Vegas just this past weekend. And yesterday a couple from Vegas were in the gallery. Small world.
San, it is indeed a small world. While in Vegas, my son was on his cell phone with a friend he met online. During the conversation he found out she was in Vegas at the same time! So....they met...in real life. How strange is that?
