![]() ![]() The Old Man of the Mountain Collapses (2003)The Old Man of the Mountain was an iconic rock formation in the Franconia Notch mountain pass of New Hampshire. Protruding from the side of a cliff, about 1,200 feet (366 m) above a lake, it looked like a craggy, 40-ft (12-m) human face. Years of freezing weather and the feature's already precarious position caused the beloved local symbol and tourist destination to collapse in 2003. In Memory of Giza
I always feel bad for these lions though. It is such a small habitat for such large creatures. Cool shots though
Texas Sweetie, I am so sorry about your Giza. Pets truly are like a member of the family.
Thanks for the visit and comment.
Suzie, I thought the same thing until we heard the facts about the habitat. The lions actually love it there. It's a controlled environment with just the right humidity and it's sound proof. They only hear the sound of the waterfall. The lions are switched out periodically with other lions. Basically, they just lay around and eat.
Here kitty, kitty!
