Beautiful Inside - Award Day
OK, so this was completely unexpected. San Meridith, of A Life With A View, awarded me this for my creativity with scissors. Although she expressed it much more eloquently by saying that I wield the stylist's scissors, taming bad hair, one head at a time. I am envious of her writing style. She paints with words as beautifully as she does with a brush. San passed the award on to ten women whom she described as friends with the requisite inner/outer beauty and wizards of transformation.
I feel honored to be in such company as the other recipients:
Ellie, of A Creek Runs Through It
Rubye Jean, of Somewhere over the Rainbow
Anna, of A.Bananna
Jo, of Celebration of Life
Lee, of Chrysalis Dreams
Chewy, of The Back of My Headboard
Celine, of Fugue
Ms. Bones, of Bones of the Sky
Shrinky, of Shrink-wrapped Scream
Cath, of Crazy Cath's Reflections
Please take the time to visit these blogs. They are incredibly talented women.
San, thank you for being able to see my inner beauty. Sometimes it takes another person to point out what you don't see in yourself. You, my friend, are among those that I consider fortunate to know through blogging. What a joy it is to read your blog entries. Each one gives another little glimpse into your life....and what an amazing life it is.
As an added little meme, San tagged EVERYONE to: post a picture of what is on your computer screen. It's called the "I'll Show You Mine if You'll Show Me Yours" meme. I did a screen shot instead of taking a picture of the entire computer. Here's mine.

The Fountains of Bellagio were destined to romance your senses. Take in a complimentary Las Vegas show of water, music and light thoughtfully interwoven to mesmerize its admirers. All for your amusement, the most ambitious, choreographically complex water feature ever conceived amazes against the beautiful backdrop of Las Vegas' lavender sky. Each dynamic performance from the Fountains collection is unique in its expression and interpretation. Fall in love with the stunning nature of this unprecedented aquatic accomplishment while relishing a clever concert of opera, classical and Broadway tunes.
With several professionally choreographed musical routines and rushing water that soars as high as 460 feet from a total of 1,214 water-emitting devices, the $40-million, 8.5-acre lake is the most ambitious water feature ever created by WET Design. The free show has been celebrated in countless films, television shows, photographs and articles on Las Vegas.

Fremont Street - Las Vegas
The Fremont Street Experience is a must see if you go to Las Vegas. It is an incredible entertainment and gaming complex in the heart of the most exciting city on Earth. Imagine standing underneath the largest big screen on the planet watching epic scenes and beautiful images flying overhead while your heart pounds to the pulsating music of a 550,000 watt sound system. You have just experienced Viva Vision. This $70 million phenomenon has delighted visitors with larger than life animations, integrated live video feeds and synchronized music ... all delivered on a high-tech overhead canopy that extends the length of five football fields. Once the Vegas sun has set, just peer upwards to experience over 12.5 million synchronized LED modules offering crisp high resolution images and astounding special affects. It is the signature attraction of the Fremont Street Experience with free shows every single night of the year.... one every hour. We lodged at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, the most luxurious resort on Fremont Street. Having the light show just outside, we took many videos. I was mesmerized by the technological wonders of this one-of-a-kind experience. Hope you enjoy this first video.
Ophelia's Dream
Song: Down, Down, Down by Rob Lord
Please Note: I haven't been lazy about updating my blog ... I've been very sick with the flu and then pneumonia since returning from Las Vegas. I started getting sick at the airport in Atlanta on the way back. By the time I returned home, I was having chills, ached all over and had a temperature of 104. After much rest and medication, I feel somewhat normal again. Still need to regain my strength but I am much better.
This is my first attempt at writing about our trip to Las Vegas. There will be more to come once I am feeling a LOT better.

Dr. Dan W. Culbertson - Gone But Not Forgotten
I've lost a dear friend. My heart is very sad. I was his chair side assistant for 17 years. He often told me that I was like his 'right hand'. We had a great working relationship. He could read me like a book and I could anticipate his next move without even thinking about it. I suppose that's what happens when you work side by side for so many years with the same person. It broke my heart when he retired...but not to the extent that it is broken by this news. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife...Kay and their daughter...Danita.
The world has lost a tremendously generous and talented man. He was an incredible artist. He taught my son to paint. I have several of Dr. Dan's paintings that I will forever cherish. I don't have any more words to express my sadness. So.......................Rest In Peace Dan.
